How to find the perfect pair of Straightener for different types of hair? If your hair is thick, coarse and curly, a non-adjustable hair iron with a heating range up to 356 degrees Fahrenheit is enough. For medium hair, non-adjustable irons are good to go. However, if you want more control, an adjustable hair straightener is good. For styling long hair, a 2"" plate would be ideal, but a 1 to 1-1/4"" plate is recommended for shorter styles.
